November 2019 brought the Bank of England to Telford once again. Rosie Consulting, on behalf of the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, arranged for an Inflation Briefing from the Bank of England to take place at Telford College. Rosie Consulting has been arranging this valuable biannual event for several years.
Michael Saunders, a member of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee gave the presentation, accompanied by the Deputy Agent Glynn Jones. A wide range of business leaders attended the event, eager to understand the economic picture as seen by the Bank of England. Mr Saunders went on afterwards to present to the College’s business students.
The event allowed businesses, Chamber members or not, to get a clear view of the current economic situation and the possible outcomes dependant on various scenarios. This regular event has proved very popular and was delivered in a way that made complex economic data accessible to all. All events are held behind closed doors with no press which allows businesses to ask questions freely and for the bank to be able to respond openly. The event is aimed mainly at professionals, CEO’s and CFO’s from every sector.
